HINDON RAILWAY A most enjoyable afternoon was spent at the Hindon Railway School on Friday, when, in the. absence of the chairman (Mils. Reggett), the secretary (Mr J. G. Campbell) presented the prizes. WAIKOUAITI The annual concert and prize-giving of the Waikouaiti School attracted a large audience on Thursday evening, and was a very successful function, the deputy-chair-man of the committee, Mr J. Thomas, presiding. The chairman, in his opening remarks, referred especially to the responsibilities of parents with regard to the dental clinic, for the services of which a small charge had now to be made. The newly-formed school choir was responsible for several enjoyable items, Chrissie Diack accompanying, and Birtles Kerr conducting the singers. Prior to the closing of the school a very interesting display of handwork by the pupils was given. Specimens including woodwork, sewing, calendars. Christmas gifts, and many fancy articles.
