POLAR EXPLORATION
MEMORIAL TRUST FUND SCHEME FOR ASSISTANCE. LONDON, December 4. The associates of the late Mr H. G. Watkins, leader of the British Arctic expedition, who was drowned out of a kayak (canoe) in Lake Fjord, Greenland, in August, have inaugurated a memorial trust fund to assist young explorers. The proceeds will be given each year to those best able to perform Polar exploration. A sum of £3OO is already subscribed by Mr Watkins’s comrades in the recent expedition.
