In the Supremo Court to-day James Garfield Heath, on three charges of forgery, was sent to gaol; for three months. Heath had pleaded guilty to giving false testimonials when applying for a position. Co,unsil said prisoner was 32 years of age, a married man living apart from his wife. The lapse was due to the influence of bad companions. This was the man who secured the position of engineer-clerk to the Kaikoura County Council, and • held -it for three days. Mr Justice Ostler said that forgery was a serious crime.
