A TRAGIC DISCOVERY DEATH OF RACING CLUB SECRETARY. (Pick United Press Association.) PALMERSTON N„ December 14. A tragic discovery was made at tlio Awapunj racecourse this morning, when the body of Dir Victor Thomas Dibule, accountant and secretary of the Manawatn Racing Club, was found in tlio trees near the main stand, the cause of death being a shot from a revolver. The deceased bad been secretary of the Racing Club since the death of Hr J. M. Johnston two years ago, having come from Auckland, where lie was assistant secretary to the Racing Club. While in Palmerston North the deceased was very popujar. He had been connected with the Citizens’ Show Committee, the Rotary Club, and the local branch of the Red Cross Society. He had been in ill-health for some time past. FOUND DEAD IN CREEK (IT,it United Press Association.) ASHBURTON. December 14. The body of Geoffrey William Deal, aged ()6, a married man, was found floating in a creek on his farm at, Eiffel ton last evening. , Marks on the bank indicated that be slipped when be went for a drink. He had been subject to fainting turns. The body was found by Ids son, who went in search of his father at dusk.
