CRAVEN SCHOLARSHIP
CLASSICAL AWARD AT OXFORD WON BY WOMAN UNDERGRADUATE. LONDON, December 14. (Received Dec. 14, at II p.m.) Miss Barbara Flower, aged 20 years, an undergraduate at St. Margaret’s, won the Craven scholarship, the most coveted classical award at Oxford. This is the first time that a woman has been the victor. Miss Barbara, who speaks French, German and Celtic, in addition to Latin and Greek, is the daughter of Dr Flower, deputy keeper of manuscripts at the British Museum.
