ILA TAIAROA AT THE VEDIC
Ila Taiaroa, who will make her first appearance at the Vedie this a er_ noon, is already well-known as a Maori performer of more than usual ability, noon, is already well known as a Maori music lies in its correct interpretation, and it is only too seldom that the Dunedin public has the opportunity of hearing familiar Maori songs sung as they should be. And it is her ability to do this as much as her pleasing soprano voice that makes Ila Taiaroa so popular with the public. Her programme for this week, which will be given in Maori costume, includes such favourites as “Hine E Hine” (Maori slumber song)_, “ E Pari Ra,” “ Home Little Maori Home,” and “Titi Torea,” a fascinating poi song. Visitors to Hie Vedic this week are assured of an entertainment that they will not quickly forget.
