THE BOTANIC GARDENS SUNDIAL
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —The sundial in the Botanic Gardens was originally in the grand court of the exhibition, and arrangements were made to have it erected in its present position by the City Council. Complaints have been made many times during the past five or six years to the council and the superintendent of the Gardens about the shameful way the pedestal was fixed. It has been "tinkered" with, but never attended to in a workmanlike manner, and its present condition is disgraceful, and as a sundial it is utterly useless. Why should this beautiful and useful ornament in our Gardens be left to go to rum?—l am, etc., Ro.si.tn.
