CONCERT AT MIDDLEMARCH

A concert party organised by Miss Jimsie Fraser travelled to Middlemarch on Saturday for the purpose of raising funds for a worthy, cause. The hall was packed to the doors, and the audience thoroughly enjoyed and showed *appreciation of every item offered. The programme jvas as follows: —Selection, Middlemarch Brass Band; Highland dance, Miss Netty Pullar; vocal solos, Mrs Charles Samson; recitations, Miss Anzac Patton; whistling solos', Mr W. Seque; vocal solos, with violin obbligatos, Messrs James Macdonald and Paul James; demi-character dance. Miss Anzac Patton; comedy juggling act, Mr Paul Reno'; selection, Middlemarch Brass Band: sailor's hornpipe, Miss N. Pullar; vocal solos, Mrs C. Samson; whistling solQj Mr W. Seque; humorous patter acts,Mr Paul Reno and Miss Anzac Patton; vocal solos, Mr James Macdonald; violin and pianoforte duo, Messrs Paul James and Alfred Pettitt; Irish hornpipe, Miss N.-'Pullar. At the conclusion of the entertainment Mr T. Cairey thanked \ the performers, and said that the funds wduld be considerably augmented as a result of the concert. Mr R. C.urrie, who acted as chairman, briefly replied on behalf of Miss Fraser and party. The official accompanist was Mr Alfred Pettitt, and the bagpipe music was supplied by Piper Gordon Crichton.
