COMMUNITY SINGING
An extra community sinfcinjt session will take place next Friday in the Empire Theatre (by courtesy of the management), between 12.30 and 1.30 p.m. This lias been put on • specially for the Mayoress's (Mrs R. S. Black) Christmas Cheer Fund for the children of unemployed parents. This is a very worthy cause, and the committee was pleased to fall in with the wishes of the Mayoress to do something to help. Mr 11. P. Desmoulins will be in charge. Mrs R. 8. Black will assist by singing a solo, and other items will be featured. Fuller particulars will be given in Thursday's paper. The sins which was held last Frjday, the last for the Mayor's Unemployment Fund, was an exceptionally successful one, and the committee feels *ure that the" public will rally to the one which is to take place on Friday, and it is hoped that aIT will Rive freely, so that the children will benefit by bavins, a happy Christmas. Listeners-in are especially asked to fend in. donations .to the secretary, care of Chas. Beag and Co.. or to the Empire Theatre before 12 o'clock on Friday; so that a substantial sum may be handed over to the Mayoress.
