TRADE WITH FAR EAST
DEVELOPING NEW MARKETS A DEFINITE MOVE MADE (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 12. A definite move to establish trade with the Far East was made to-day when a conference was held between the Prime Minister (Mr G. W. Forbes), Mr J. G. Coates, Mr E. Masters, and representatives of the four export control boards. Mr Forbeg stated subsequently that the conference had been most satisfactory. He indicated that the control boards would confer further.’ Mr Forbes said that direct shipping was one of the necessities, but he made it clear that there was no likelihood of the State instituting a service. He said the Government was serious in its determination." to see that fresh markets were developed ; whereever opportunity offered. The Minister of Industries and Commerce had obtained > a vast amount of information regarding the possibilities of trade with Eastern countries, and thig had been furnished to the export control boards. Now that a preliminary conference had been held, it was for the hoards to follow up the matter. ;v- .
