The expenditure exceeded the revenue by £1,599,678. The revenue totalled £11,929,310, an increase of £2,301,931 compared with the same period last year. The expenditure amounted to £13,528,994, a decrease of £3,259,005. THE GRANITES GOLDFIELD. NO AUTHENTICATED REPORT. CANBERRA, October 12. “No authenticated report that payable gold has been discovered at the Granites goldfield has been received by the Department of the Interior,” said the Minister (Mr Parkhill).
