A PINSTAKING PILGRIMAGE
Sun-bathing and rambling, both much in favour at the moment.in Britain, have accustomed people to all sorts of strange and attenuated garments. But so far nothing has been seen quite so queer as the outfit of an Austrian who,- a year ago, started to walk from Vienna to Berlin, dressed in bathing-trunks and sandals, and with 2000 pins stuck in his body. Whether the pins were intended as supplementary “ clothing,” o r whether the idea was to make the journey more difficult, and therefore more meritorious, is not quite clear. But the example is certainly not one to be recommended, even to the most hardened hikers.
