MEETING OF EXECUTIVE • At the first: meeting of the new Executive Committee of the Otago Victor Club the president (Mr P. W. Breen) occupied the chair. There were also present Messrs F. J. Williams, E. W. G. H Watts, J. L. Passmore, E, J. Anderson, C. Sundstrum, W, R- Hudson, W. A. Jenkins, F. Goodwin, P. W. Curtis, AJ. Allen, G. S. Kirby, H. S. Reid, A. 0. Davies, G. T. Thorn, C. Bingham, W. J. MTnnes, H. H. Henderson and A. J. Campbell. Before commencing the business of the meeting, Mr Breen welcomed the -new members of the executive, and extended the club’s congratulations to Mr Williams on bis being elected a vice-presi-dent of the South Island Motor Union, CORRESPONDENCE.

The secretary of the South Island Motor Union wrote suggesting that associations and clubs in the South Island should adopt the uniform telegraphic code address “ Secauto,” which was at present in general use by motoring organisations in the North Island.—The suggestion was approved} and the secretary was instructed to make arrangements tor the use of the address. A letter was received from Mr J. S. Joseph (Taieri Mouth) asking the club to support a movement towards Laving the construction of a road between Titri and Taieri Mouth proceeded with. The writer pointed out that the work could be carried out principally by unemployed labour, and that the toad when completed would form a valuable scenic asset to the province.—The chairman stated that the Bruce County Council had already turned this project down, and that, m view of this, the dub could not do anything. ■ • • advertising hoardings. A letter was received from the secretary of the South Island Motor Union, who stated that another attempt was being made to have removed all advert!:iing hoardings in rural districts, and thac the indications were that some success would be attained. (Mr M. Stevenson) wrote applying for a grant from the club’s funds to assist the board in keeping the domain open as a. free.' park for motorists.—ln a general' discussioa. it . was- agreed -tba(; a fair proportion of the motorists parking free of charge on the domain- were not members of the club, and it 'was decided to refuse the request. LAfeOUR DAY TRIAL. Arrangements for .-.the motor cycle reliability trial to be held during Labour Day week-end were submitted., for approval. The proposed route lay througn Oamaru and Kurow to Omararoa, then through Lindis Pass to Tarras and Pembroke, and home by way of Alexandra, Roxburgh and Lawrence.—The schedule was approved and’officials were appointed to carry out checks at various points. ; GENERAL., Mr Williams reported that with thj chairman and the engineer of the Peninsula County Council ho had inspected the parking area at Harrington Point, with a view to having it widened;—The matter was loft in the hands'of Messrs Williams and Kirby £or_ attention. !
