MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Otago Land Board was commenced yesterday, the commissioner of Crown lands (Mr N. C. Kensington) in the chair. Others present were Messrs M. A. Kinney, D, M'Lennan, J. R. M'Culloch, and G. Livingstone. The commissioner submitted for consideration the applications of L. Ashby, P. F. Cotter, and M. P, M'Ginnis for sections in’block X, Leaning Rock S.D. Section 03 was allotted to P. F. Cotter and section 99 to L. Ashby. Further consideration was given the application of James Enright, sen., for a renewable lease over sections 65 and 60, block 11, St. Bathans S.D., comprising 350 a 2r 38p.—The lease was granted at a. capital value of £250. An application by Thomas James Pauley for a renewable lease over section 4, block VIII, St. Bathans S.D., area 103 a Or 35p, was granted at a capital value of £IOO. The application of Egbert Samsbury, of Skippers, for a right to occupy an area of 550 acres between Stony Creek and Londonderry Creek, being part of the area previously known as the Skippers commonage, was granted at a monthly rental of ss, tenancy to be from month to month. The application of the Teviot Electric Power Board for a right to occupy over section 143, block I, Teviot S.D., area 2r 31p. was granted from year: to year on the usual conditions, under section 147 ot the Land Act, 1924, at an annual rental of 10s. Mrs N. C. Werner was granted right to occupy for a term of five years over an area of 3a lr 07p in block VII, Leaning Rock S.D., at an annual rental of £l. Edward Bruce Paterson applied for permission to occupy sections 44, 50, and 52, block I, and 13 and 14, block XV, Crookston S.D., 319 a 2r OOp (M.L., 1354); reserve fronting section 13, block XV, and sections 44, 52, block I, Crookston 5. 73a (M.L. 2022); and area between section 16, block XV, Crookston, and the main road (being sections 1/5, block VI, town of Bastings, la lr 05p—ALL. 2528), at present held by Rona Percival Smith.— Miscellaneous licenses 1354, 2022, and 2528 were cancelled and permission granted to Paterson to occupy from year to year at an annual rental of £2 12s 6d. Edward James Hellier applied for permission to occupy section G4a Conical Hills settlement. 12a lr 28p, at present held under year-to-year license by Peter M'Millan.—Permission granted to occupy area from year to year at £1 10s per annum. __ The applications of G. Graham and F. S. Brown for permission to occupy an

area between sections 3 and 17, block VI, Nnseby, approximately 22a, were considered.—F. Brown’s application was declined, and a year-to-year right to occupy the area was granted to G. Ghihnm _at an annual rental of 10s, as from 12/10/32, MISCELLANEOUS LICENSE.

The commissioner submitted for consideration the application of T. P. Gunn to surrender his miscellaneous license 2438 over section 5, block IV, Lower Wanaka S.D.. area 81 acres.—License determined as from 11/6/32. TUSSOCK BURNING. Roberts and Co. applied for permission to burn tussock on run 601.—Action of commissioner in granting permission confirmed. . . Robert Jopp applied for permission to burn tussock on runs 520, 621, and 689. —Action of commissioner in granting permission confirmed. The commissioner submitted for consideration the application of W. A.Scaife to burn tussock, fern, and scrub on runs 334 C and part 334 D, Lake county.— Action of commissioner in granting permission confirmed. . . J. A. Gow applied for permission to burn tussock on runs 245, 245 A, 245 D, and 260 (Rocklands station),—Action of commissioner in granting permission confirmed. , , . , . G. S. Brown applied for permission to bum tussock on run 3398, Vincent county. —Action of commissioner in granting permission confirmed. GENERAL, The Clutha County Council submitted proposals for the expenditure of “ thirds,” etc., accrued for the period ended April 30, 1932, amounting to £3 15s 2d, and for period ended July 31, 1932, amounting to £2 6s B(l.—.Proposals approved and receiver authorised to pay. The transfer of section 27, block XLIII, town of Onmaru, 1 rood 20 polos, from Mark Sinclair to James M, Robertson, was approved. _ . . Dickson Jnrdine applied for permission to bum tussock on run 331, Lake county. —Action of commissioner in granting permission confirmed. F. C.Morgan applied for permission to burn tussock on run 585, St. Bathans S.D. —Action of commissioner in granting permission confirmed.
