COMMUNITY SINGING
The weekly community singing season will again be held in the Empire Theatre, by courtesy of the management, from 12.30 to 1.30 p.m. to-morrow. Mr P. H. Lumpen, who has been in Christchurch producing the comic opera, “ Our Miss Gibbs,” has returned, and will bo in charge of the sing. He has sonic sepciallties to introduce, including the “ Three Hims,” “ Ancient and Modern,” and also another item. Mr Paul Cullen will make a feature of the popular song that is all the rage—- “ Somebody Loves You "—and other numbers. Misa Rita Holmes will as usual be at the piano. It is hoped that those who wish to contribute to the Mayor’s Unemployment Fund will send in donations, either money or goods, to the secretary, care of Charles Begg and Co., Ltd., or care of the Empire Theatre, before noon on Friday, so that they can be acknowledged or sold at the sing. The attendance for the season has been exceptionally good, and it is hoped that this Friday another large audience will gather.
