SIR EVERARD IM IHURN ’ LONDON, October 10. Tlie death is announced of Sir Everard im Ihurn. Sir Everard im Ihiirn was Governor ' of Fiji and High Commissioner lot the Western Pacific from 1904-10. Prior to that he held’ various appointments under the Colonial Office. He did notable exploring Work in British Guiana. He was 80 years of age. .7MRS JOHN FISHER An old resident of Otaiitau, Mrs John Fisher, passed away at her residence, “ Aldersydc,” on Monday morning after • a long illness. Mrs Fisher (says the Southland Times) was of a quiet and unassuming disposition, and was held inthe greatest respect. She took a prominent part in the local Presbyterian s Church, and was also a valued member of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. During the Great War she did not spare herself, and-rendered valuable service in connection with the Red Cross Society. » MR A. M. 'BEALE (Per United PriEss ' GISBORNE, October 11.
