SMALL VESSEL SUNK

COLLISION WITH LINER THE AFRIC STAR DAMAGED, (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, October 10. (Received Oct. 11, at 5.5 p.m.) A collision occurred in the Englisn Channel yesterday between the White Star liner Afric Star, bound from London to Buenos Aires, and the Norwegian steamer Charente, of 1327 tons, bound from Bordeaux to Oslo. The Charente’s crew and three passengers, including a woman and a baby, were taken aboard the Afric Star, which kept her bow locked in the Norwegian vessel. Afterwards the Charente sank and the Afric Star returned to London, where it was found that her bows had been damaged.
