The weather was ideal and the grounds made available by the courtesy of the board of directors of Columba College proved excellent for this type of sport. Several meetings of interested teams had organised and planned the events, which began punctually at 2 p.m. Thirteen teams (consisting of nine girls each) competed from the following business houses:—Carbury Fry Hudson, New Zealand Wax Vestas, D.1.C., D.S.A., J. Events were varied, including single races, races for pairs and team work. The standard of play throughout wag high, and the new teams are to be congratulated on their rapid improvement. Throughout all events each individual played for her team. The whole programme of 14 events was concluded at 5.15 p.m., when points for tlie afternoon’s performance were totalled, the D.I.C. team winning with 33 points. Kia Ora being runners-up with 25, Y.W.C.A. gaining 19 points and Girl Citizens 15. 1
