The relief workers in Ashburton are by no means satisfied with the new conditions imposed by the Unemployment Board, and to-day they inaugurated a “ goslow ” policy. Not all the workers are adhering to it, however. The decision to “go slow” was made at a largelyattended meeting of the men, only three voting against it. An official of the New Zealand Workers’ Union stated that the “goslow ” proposal would be discussed by his union on Monday, but he did not think the union would assist the relief workers in this way.
