Had rain not set in'yesterday afternoon the Norfolk would have been ready to sail last evening. The steamer Antigone, with phosphates from Ocean Island, will probably steam to a berth at the Ravensbourne wharf to-morrow to complete discharge. RELIEF WORKERS , At a recent meeting of relief workers at Port Chalmers it was unanimously decided to enter a strong protest against the new scheme under which relief workers in boroughs and counties are at present working. . The meeting also decided to communicate with the Unemployment Board in Wellington and urge that relief workers in Port Chalmers be placed on the same basis as those in the cities. In response to numerous requests, the committee of the Port Chalmers Relict Workers’ Association has decided to hold another old-time dance in the Garrison Hall on October 26. The dance music will be supplied by Dagg’s Orchestra. This will be the final dance of the year, and it is anticipated that the effort will be just as successful as the previous ones. The proceeds from the dance will be devoted to the Port Chalmers Relief Depot Fund.
