The excavating of the Viking settlement Haithabu. on the Baltic coast near Schleswig, is to be begun immediately under the direction of Professor' Schwantes, head of the Kiel Museum. Many interesting finds from the days of the Vikings, and also from the Bronze Ago, have already been made there.
