A.D. Bro. R, O. Wilkinson presided over the last meeting of Ivanhoe Lodge held in the Commercial Travellers Old Building, Dowling street, on Wednesday last. A large amount of correspondence was dealt with, including an' invitation from West Harbour Lodge. The general efficiency judges notified the lodge that they would judge the lodge on Wednesday, October 26. The bards reported fully on their visits to sick members, and sick pay and accounts were passed for payment. The secretary gave a report of the committee .meeting held and arrangements contemplated for the combined “ hard-up night,” after which several brethren reported on visits paid to sister lodges. After the business section of the lodge had been completed an adjournment was made for a friendly game of cards and supper. The fortnightly meeting of Progress Juvenile Lodge was held in the Methodist Church Hall,‘Wesley street, South Dunedin, last Wednesday, A.D. Bro. Jones presiding over a good attendance of members. Two candidates were initiated into the mysteries of Druidism and the election of officers was carried out with great enthusiasm. The usual toasts were given and Bro. A. Field replied to the toast of the “Newly Initiated Brother.” The business being concluded, the lodge was. closed and hand ball indulged in by the boys for a short time. An excellent attendance of members and visitors was witnessed at the Lily of the Valley Lodge, A.T>. Bro. R. Reid presiding. A considerable amount of correspondence was dealt with and invitations to social evenings were noted. An official visit was received from G.P. Bro. W. M‘Leod, accompanied by G.G. Bro. Ruston and members of the Board of Management, D.P. Bro. Dove of No. 1 District, and several of the well- known sisters and brethren who received a hearty welcome. R.V.A.D. Bro. Bundle and officers of the chapter’ were iilso officially received and welcomed. Three candidates including two juveniles were admitted into the Order, the officers per-: forming thrir duties in an efficient manner. After routine business had been transacted the chairs were handed over to the Chapter officers for the purpose of holding a P.A. competition. A good number of entries were received, and the judges, P.G.P. Bro. Walsh and Bro. Wood, after a patient hearing, gave their award as follows: —Sister Slater 1, P.A. Bro. Johnston 2, and Bro. Workman 3. A vote of thanks to the judges was accorded,. also a complimentary vote to Sister Slater for the excellent rendering given. The welcome given to all was duly responded to and supper handed round. ■ . ■' ■ ■ ■*

The Olive Branch Juvenile-Lodge was presided over by A.D. Bro. Connell, a good attendance of members and visitors being present. V.P. Bro. Jenkins of the Juvenile Council was officially received, other welcome visitors being P.A. Bro. Morris and Bros. Saunders, Schofield and King. After routine business had been disposed of several members received clearances to adult branches. The half yearly election of officers took place and resulted as follow:—l.P.A., Bro. Connell; A.D., Bro Maher; W '.A., Bro. Bradshaw; conductor, Bro. Grubb; 1.G., Bro. Dalton; 0.G., Bro. L. Maher; A.D. Bards, Bros. Birkenshaw ami Thomas; V.A. Bards, Bros. Powell an I I. Thomas; minute secretary, Bro. J. Powell. The installation ceremony was carried but in an impressive manner by V.P. Bro. • Jenkins, assisted by P.A. Bro. Morris, who .received a hearty vote; of thanks, the officers returning thanks fo;‘ their election. The toasts were duly rasponded ’ to, after ‘ which the secretary engaged the members, during;an adjournment, to a game of basket’ball, which was entered into with enthusiasm. After the close of the meeting the executive met and elected P.A. Bro. Morris. (Lily) as superintendent, subject to the approval of the Juvenile Council and Board of Management. 1
