JUNIOR CLERK CHARGED ADMITTED TO PROBATION. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 29. John David Dennis, aged 21, formerly a junior clerk in the office of the Rodney County Council, appeared for sentence to-day after a week in custody for stealing £SO belonging to the council. The magistrate said that Dennis had been under the influence of a superior officer who had tried to shelve the blame on Dennis. He would be convicted and placed on probation for two years. No order was made for restitution, counsel stating that £SO, plus £l3 10s wages due to Dennis, had been received in restitution by Dennis's superior officer, and so far it could not be proved what had hannencd to this money*
