MAKING NEW JOBS
AMERICAN BUSINESS PILOTS ____ f FINANCIAL CRISIS OVERCOME. WASHINGTON, August 26. (Received August 28, at 5.5 p.m.) Business pilots of the United States adopted a six-point plan to make new jobs after hearing President Hoover say: “ The major financial crisis Is overcome.” The plan is to increase employment on the railroads and the stimulation of industry through the expansion of maintenance and equipment, and the purchase of new equipment for industries to replace obsolete, wornout equipment, worksharing, repair, and home building. A hint is given that they may shorten the hours of labour.
