STATE FINANCES
NEW SOUTH WALES PREPARATION OF BUDGET SPEECH. SYDNEY, August 26. The State Cabinet has practically completed the Budget speech. The Estimates, as prepared, will show a deficit at the close of the current financial year not exceeding the limit of £4,500,000 agreed upon at the last Premiers’ Conference. It is possible that at the end of the financial year 1933-34 the State will be in a position to balance its Governmental finances. Mr Stevens will endeavour to present his Budget speech during the first week of the session of Parliament, which begins on September 6.
