THE OTAGO HUNT CLUB * MEETING

The Otago Hunt Club will hold its annual race meeting at Wingatui to-day and favourable weather and an attractive card should find a large attendance on the course. The card contains a good mixture of sport consisting of hurdle racing, steeplechasing; flat racing, and lightharness racing, and this varied list generally makes a widespread appeal. The going will be on the soft side and somß* what sticky and holding. The card will open with the 12 sIa VIEW HURDLE HANDICAP. Both Deportment arid Sir Richard shaped well in their engagement at the Grand National meeting. Sir Richard now meets Deportment on 141 b better terms than at Timaru, and may start a better favourite than the Masterpiece gelding. Last March went off when at Riecarton, but there is no doubt .about the merit of bis form at the Dunedin winter meeting. This trio read the best on form, as Red Racer may find his weight too much. He will, however, put tip a good show. Lord Argosy may prove the best of the light-weights. The Hunting Song filly Gold Dress bears an improved appearance, and the order of favouritism may be Palautua, Hystride, and Gold Dress.
