SOUTH CANTERBURY HUNT CLUB
(From Oob Special Reporter.) TIMARU, July 29. The going will be on the soft side'for the South Canterbury Hhnt Club’s meeting. In the possible absence of Morena, Full Measure and Rameses may dispute favouritism in the Hunters’, Hurdles. Adult may be selected as favourite for the Fareora Handicap, with Prince Tractor next. Dejportment and Oriflamb are sure of support in the Teschemaker’s Memorial Steeples, and Lucess and Okapua may bo tne popular picks for the South Canterbury Steeples, in which High Pitch may also find favour. Essay and Lena Thorpe are talked about in connection with the Washdyke Trot, and Merry Peel looks like being favourite for the Levels Handicap, in which First Song. is regarded as a doubtful starter, but wo.uld be fancied if included in the field. Academy may be the next best. Some Acre, Night Parade, and Fair Exchange will he amongst those fancied for the Hungers’ Plate and Water Power and Ravine for the Claremont Handicap.
