Through negotiations with, the former ruling House of Wettin, the State of Saxony has secured for the famous “ Gruims Gewolbe,” or Green Vault, a set of table decorations made in 1755 for Elector Friedrich August the Just. It consists of a number of pedestals of Saxon semiprecious stones, silver, and bronze, made by the Dresden goldsmith, Neuber, and of Meissener porcelain groups made after models by Acier. The whole constitutes one of the- finest creations of Saxon applied art of tlie eecond half of the eighteenth century.
