Of the 389 passengers in the United States liner President Roosevelt, which arrived at Portsmouth recently from New York, 319 were persons who had been either deported or removed from the United States because they were out of work. They included 126 British subjects, whose fares had been paid. Since the beginning of the year more than 1000 British subjects who have thus been sent back to their homes have landed at Plymouth. Most of them have been men who with their families emigrated during the past 10 years to escape the slump in England. With "Huia" Butter you can have your choice of either lib or Jib pats.— Advt.
