DOMAIN BOARD

ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Ocean Beach Domain Board was held in the Town Hall yesterday afternoon, and wite attended by Messrs J. Wilson (chairman), H. 0. Campbell, P. L. Lawrence, E. Longworth, J, J. Marlow, and H. L. Tapley. Mr Wilson was reappointed chairman for the year, Mr Tapley remarking that they had the right man in the right place in Mr Wilson. Mr J. B. Shacklock was reappointed treasurer. The Otago Rugby Union was grafted the use of two grounds at Hancock Park. The chairman said that the union v had originally made them a grant of £IOO. No rental was paid for the ground, but he thought that next year the union should be required to pay a rent. —It was decided to notify the union of what might be expected from them;:-next year. "J' The secretary (Mr R. A. Johnston) presented the balance sheet for the’year. The chairman said that the lhalahca sheet, was quite a creditable one. The board had commenced the year, wi(h a credit balance of £1062 12s fid. Receipts including statutory levy (£1533 3s l9d), rent and fees (£80), refunds for wages under the Unemployment Board's No. 5 scheme (£1719 13s lid), and other sundry items totalled £4653 16s 2d. Expenditure had totalled £3339 13s Id, which included £llßl 14s 7d for wages of the board’s own staff and £1777 5s 8d for wages of relief workers, the balance being made up of charges for material, cartage, and other sundry items. The credit balance to carry for- x ward for the new year was £1314 2s Id. The balance sheet was adopted.' The chairman in moving the adoption of the annual report said that the principal work under the unemployment scheme during the year had been the completion of the recreation ground on the domain opposite Moreau' street. Some 25,000 yards of material'Had been shifted.
