INTERESTING COMPARISONS (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May 18. Returns published by the Board of Trade reveal that the proportion of imports from British countries in the January-March quarter showed a marked increase as compared with the corresponding periods of 1931 and 1924. British countries also took a slightly larger proportion of United Kingdom exports than last year, and a considerably greater share than in 1924. During the first quarter of the current year 34.48 per cent, of United Kingdom imports was consigned from British countries, In 1931 and 1924 the proportions were 30.13 per cent, and 30.09 per cent, respectively. British countries absorbed 43.83 per cent, of : United Kingdom exports, against 43.01 in the first quarter of last year, and against 40.94 in the corresponding quarter of 1924. FRENCH FIGURES.
