Edmund James Smith and the New Zealand Insurance Co., Ltd. v. Alfred Edward Laney, claim for £l2.—The defendant was ordered to pay the amount ■claimed with costs (£1 3s), in default 12 days’ imprisonment. Butterfields’ Ltd. v,. William H. Armstrong, claim for £1 8s with costs (6s), in default two days’ imprisonment. RESERVED JUDGMENT. Reserved decision was given in the ease in which Joseph George (Kahuika) proceeded against Albert. Adam Wright and C.- H. M‘K. Wright (Oamaru) on a claim to. recover £238 9s 8d made up of special damages totalling £l3B 9s 8d and general damages amounting to £IOO, arising out of an exchange of properties.—After having reviewed the evidence the magistrate gave judgment for the • defendants, who were allowed costs (£l2 19s) in addition to further witnesses’ expenses.
