TRACK WORK AT INVERCARGILL

(Pee United Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, May 12. Another heavy frost was experienced for training this morning. The weather promises to be fine for the meeting, although the track will be heavy. All the visiting horses have, arrived, with the exception of C. Gieseler’s team, which ia due to-day. It is reported that Gallant Fox is sore, and. will not fulfil his engagements. ‘First Song and Al Jolson are not coming. ' Galloping was done on the course proper, with the flags out about 25ft. Some fairly interesting work was accomplished. Consono ran three furlongs in 39sec and completed seven in Imin 30 4-ssec. Humphries will ride him. Inevitable easily beat Remindfiil over five furlongs in Imin 7 4-ssec. Inevitable ran the first three in 38sec. and finished on the bit: Enwood and Crubenmore ran four furlongs nicely in 53sec. Red Boa and Miss Redowa ran six furlongs comfortably m Imin 23 l-ssec. Jack a Dandy did three furlongs in 39 4-ssec, and Steeton pleased when running five in Imin 7 4-ssec. Cough beat Red Sea over three furlongs, but they were not timed. Miss Winston beat Young Sentinel decisively over five furlongs in Imin 7 4-ssec. Thornton beat Glenham Lark in five furlongs in Imin 9sec. Jovial Friar and Clatter ran three furlongs in 40 2-ssec. The Smuggler beat Night Maid over six furlongs in Imin 23 l-ssec, the former finishing strongly. Shining Gold and Irish Chieftain were under a strongpull throughout six furlongs. Lady Topsy ran four furlongs in 53 4-ssec. Matu, Blue Metal, Paris. Taramoa and Strong Light did strong pacing. King Balboa, who is very well, and Night Rose sprinted four furlongs in dashing style. •
