■ ' TO THE -EDITOR. Sir,— Mr W. A. Bodkin,, M.P., made a ■trong attack last Friday,’ in Parliament, on what he termed the misleading report of the Economy Commission. Surely Mr Bodkin is in erros» in describing the honorarium he receives as “salary”; salaries are the reward for duties undertaken to order by servants. A representative of the people should keep himself on a higher plane. It is. difficult to believe that such bungling occurs in the Government accounts as to charge charwomen’s wages for the whole building to the dining and liquor rooms known as Bellamy’s. Otago people —who know little or nothing of what is called Bellamy’s—would like further information. —I am, etc., ELECTOR;
