A plasterer damaged a brick in the course of his work on a new housing estate in South London. He began to replace it, but was told by the foreman i that it was not his job. So the plasterer 1 waited until a bricklayer working three I miles away could be sent for to replace ; tlie damaged brick. The plasterer, in ex- ! postulating at the delay, accidentally put Ids arm through a window. As a practical workman ho wanted to replace the broken glass. He was not permitted to ido so. A glazier had to be summoned i from an adjoining estate to do a simple I job and neglect Ids own work. This is. cited by the Sunday Express, the latest example of Britain's' trade union regulations.
