AMATEUR ATHLETICS
ROSLYN CLUB. The annual meeting of the Roslyn Harrier Club was held in Secular Hall on Friday last, Mr M. W. Johnson presiding over a good attendance of members. In moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, the president referred to the excellent progress that had been made by the club during the two years of its existence. This had been due in no small measure to the activity of the captain, who had been assisted by a willing team of helpers. Although the club was still young, he hoped the day was not far distant when it would occupy a high place among harriers in Dunedin. The following office-bearers were elected: —Patron, the Rev. E. J. Tipler; president, Mr M. W. Johnson; vice-presi-dents —Messrs R. S. Black, T. T. Chisholm, W. Dobson. R. Ellis, A. H. S. Fairmaid, R. Graham, G. Hutton, M. M'Allnm, J. Paterson, G. E. The committee was instructed to frame regulations regarding the awarding of attendance badges, and was also asked to consider what relief might be given to unemployed members in the matter of a reduction in subscriptions. Five new members were elected. It was decided to hold the first run from Scoular Hall on April 9.
