' At a recent meeting of the executive of the Buller Progress League at Westport it was decided to .ask the Government to take the necessary legislative measures to enable resumption of work- on the Buller railway, .utilising unemployment labour for the purpose. A large quantity of frozen meat remains in the chambers of the Ivaiti freezing works at Gisborne. Farmers have shown a reluctance to ship their meat this season in view of the low prices prevailing, and the chambers have been nearly 5 fully taxed on a number of occasions. The Port Brisbane, which left last week with a Gisborne cargo of 23,000 freight carcasses of meat, eased the position a little, but the available space is again filling rapidly.
