APPLICATION FOR LOANS (Pick Exited Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 18. At a meeting of the Local Government Loans Board 44 applications for loans totalling £265,900 were dealt with. Loans amounting to £250,816 were sanctioned, including £181,400 for renewals; £51,975 for new loans; £10,500 as loans for the restoration of earthquake damage; £4500 for unemployment: and £2441, the unexpended balance of previous loans, .was authorised to be used for other purposes. The balance (£15,090) of the amounts submitted was either declined or referred back to the local authorities concerned for farther consideration.
