PASSION PLAY OF OBERAMMERGAU

Lovers of art will liuve a treat at His Majesty’s Theatre on Monday and Tuesday next when the pictures of the Passion Play of Oberammergau are to be shown. Each individual picture has been hand painted by Mr A. C. Dixon, one of Londons best artists, and each cost from three to four guineas. They have been commented upon by the press as the finest displays of art ever portrayed upon the silver screen. These pictures are shown by official sanction and under loyalty to tfie Oberammergau community, and are the only ones which have ever been allowed lo be taken. The play lias been running every 10 years since 1034, yet this is the first time that the pictures have ever been shown in New Zealand. The last performance of the play was in 1930. and these art pictures are of that presentation with Alois Lang in the leading role. The box plan ig now open at the Bristol.
