PHAR LAP
SPECIAL RACE PROBABLE. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) NEW YORK, February 24. (Received Feb. 25, at 8 p.m.) Mr Victor Schaumburg, the racing secretary of the Saratoga and Belmont Parks, announced that he has advised Mr Davis that there is a possibility that a special race may be arranged in the East for Phar Lap this summer if the Australian horse shows his usual form at Agua Caliente. However, it appears that the opportunities for Phar Lap to enter the regular Eastern races are few since virtually all the big handicaps suitable for Phar Lap had already closed.
