R, Reed has found that he. -will have to postpone his trip to Sydney as all the shipping accommodation is booked in the rush for the opening of the Harbour Bridge celebrations. Jonker, a two-year-old owned by J. T. Jamieson, has been sent to Sydney to join Ammon Ra, Closing Time, and Prolyxo. He is by Grand Knight from the English mare White Tulip, by White Magic. In his only start to date Jonker was third in the Takapuna Stakes last month. R. M'Lellan. who owns and trains Attractive Lady, winner of the Eowle Memorial Handicap at Clifdeh on Saturday, has been successful in that event—either as trainer or rider —eight times in the last 10 years. The lease of Gold Pit from Mrs M. A. Perry expires, at the end of this month, and Mr P. C. Webb has arranged for a two years’ renewal. Laughing Prince raced a long way below his best at Wanganui, and left the impression that he is slipping. He is getting on in years, and will not do a great deal more racing. If the tracks keep soft he may be kept going a while yet, then he will go to the stud. . View Halloo is the most improved three-year-old in the North Island. His wins at Wanganui were not flukes. He easily accounted for good gallopers, including Hunting Cry. Horses that beat Hunting Cry easily are not picked up every day. Small courses do not suit Joie de Val, and her next appearance may be at Trentham, where she ran well in January. On the form she displayed on that cccasion she looked sure to win good race on the west coast trip, but she was a failure. She is not easy to get to do her best, and small courses do not make'the task any the easier. In the history of the C.J.C. Middle Park Plate, dated from 1884, two-year-olds have won 31 and three-year-olds 15 contests. In the brief period when the race wag opened to horses of all ages Gloaming won twice and Glentruin once.
