(From Our Own Correspondent.) TAPANUI, February 23. On Friday afternoon there was a good attendance'at the sale conducted by Mr R. F. Sim (Heriot) on account of Mr J. Curry (Tapanui), when the latter’s pm perty, consisting of approximately 30 acres, was put up for auction. The lane, failed to reach the vendor’s reserve and was passed in. but the stock and sundries realised market values. GIRL GUIDE EXECUTIVE. The members of the Girl Guide Executive Committee met in the Oddfellows Hall on Friday afternoon, when the district commissioner (Mrs Quin) presided. It was decided that the companies should commence on Tuesday. March 1, for the New Year. A programme was drawn up and the appointment of officers was left until a later date. A motion was passed congratulating Mrs Craigie on her appointment as first woman J.P. in the district. LAWN TENNIS. On Saturday lakt a lawn tennis match between Waikaka and Tapanui was played on the Tapanui courts. Although the visitors were defeated by 13 sets to three, a very enjoyable day was spent.
