RIFLE SHOOTING

KIWI DEFENCE CLUB The first competition of Nm 5 match was fired by the Kiwi Defence Rifle Club last Saturday afternoon over 300, 500, and GOO yards, seven shots and one sighter. The weather was ideal, although at times the light was inclined to be difficult. The ( scoring was of a high order, no fewer than three “ possibles —two at 500 yards and one at 600 yards—being recorded. Rifleman R. Gilliek was top scorer for the day with 103 (possible 105)—a brilliant performance. Rifleman H. Whitehead secured-the other “possible’ at 500 yards, and Deputy-president F. W. A. Clayton a similar score at 600 yards. The following are the scores, with handicaps; A. Grade.
