THE WEST TAIERI CEMETERY
TO THE EDITOR; Sir, —In a recent issue of your paper I read with interest a letter from Mr J. Swan, who wrote in praise of the greatly improved appearance of the West Taieri Cemetery. I wonder if Mr Swan is aware that, it is really the local unemployed workers who deserve the praise and thanks expressed not, only by Mr Swan, but by a great number of other people. The unemployed workers are to be congratulated and thanked for the obvious interest they have taken in this work and for the thorough manner in which the job was done. The recently-appointed caretaker of this cemetery is also to be congratulated, as it must be much easier and certainly much more heartening to be able to make a start “in charge” of a _ cemetery previously tidied up and beautified. —I am, etc., Praise to Whom Pbaise is Due. Berwick, January 12.
