NEW ZEALAND BRIDEGROOM LONDON, December 3. At Holy Brompton, on November 30, the wedding took place of Mr John Francis St. Barbe Barclay, only eon of the late Mr John Barclay and of Mrs J. S. Atkinson, of 7 St. James’ House, Kensington Square, W., and grandson of the late Sir Thomas Barclay, and Miss Joan Rosemary Clarke, of 9 Queen street, W., elder daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Reginald Clarke, of Melbourne. The bride is a niece of Sir Frederick Clarke, President of the Legislative Assembly, and a granddaughter of the late Sir William Clarke, the first Australian baronet.

Mr Clive Clarke (brother) gave away the bride, who looked very attractive in her long-sleeved wedding gown of white creye romaine, the fitting bodice made with a cowl neckline, and the full, godet skirt extending at the back to form a train. A sash of the same material encircled her waist. Her ornament was a pearl necklace and her bouquet was of Harrissi lilies. The enveloping veil of tulle was held in place by a coronetshaped headdress of orange blossoms and pearls. There were six grown-up bridesmaids, and two small children, who walked together. The elder attendants were: Miss Elizabeth Clarke (sister of the bride), Miss Joyce Lindsay (daughter oi the Hon. Mrs Robert Lindsay) , Mies Joyce Cooper (daughter of Sir Daniel Cooper), Mrs Charles Cooper (nee Miss Estelle Manifold, sister-in-law of Miss Joyce Cooper), Miss Ailsa Macdonald (cousin of the bride), and Mies Joscelyne PurvieSmith. Their becoming dresses were of white spotted net, with full frilled skirts, finished with eashes of orange-coloured velvet. They wore floral wreaths ot orange and white, and carried bouquets of deep yellow roses. . The small attendants were Mies Muflrt Clarke and Master Peter Hill (son of the Countess of Bective, cousin of the bride). The little girl wore a long, full-ekirted frock of deep orange-coloured chiffon velvet, the fitting bodice made with shoft, puffed sleeves, and a wreath of orangecoloured flowers in her hair. The page wore a blouse of white satin, with trousers of orange-coloured velvet. The Hon. Max Aitken (son of Lord Beaverbrook) was best man. At the choral ceremony the officiating clergy were the Rev. Lewie Harden and the Rev. H. S. Chard. Beautiful autumn flowers and palms decorated the approach to the chancel.
