A WILL CONTESTED
ENGLISH GIRL’S LEGACY VANCOUVER, January 8. Miss Evelyn Margaret Hall, an English girl, was about to sail from England for Victoria, British Columbia, in order to become companion to Mr Alexander Stephen, a friend of her uncle, when Mr Stephen died. She has been awarded a sum of £3OOO from his estate by the British Columbia Supreme Court. The will left Miss Hall the estate if she proved a gobd companion, otherwise the money was to go to public charities, the organisers of which contested the will.
