MURDER IN VIRGINIA
YOUNG WIDOW AND MAID SEARCH FOR NEGRO SERVANT. NEW YORK, January 13. (Received Jan. 14, at 8 p.m.) A murder which has aroused attention throughout the nation occurred at Middleburg, Virginia, one of America’s most fashionable hunting centres, yesterday. Mrs Agnes Ilsley, the socially prominent young widow of a well-known banker, and Mrs Mina Buckner, her elderly maid, were found beaten to death in their beds, presumably with an iron bootjack. The police are searching for a former negro servant whom Mrs Ilsey discharged a year ago.
