SALUTING THE FLAG
BRITISH COLUMBIA DECREE A HEATED CONTROVERSY. VANCOUVER, January 13. (Received Jan. 14, at 7 p.m.) A heated controversy is raging over the action of the British Columbia Government in decreeing the compulsory saluting of the Union Jack at the schools every Monday. Opponents of the decree declare that the practice is distinctly anti-British and pro-United States, and would not tend to inculcate real British patriotism. *
