A secret underground passage to the thousand-year-old ruins of Burton Abbey from an old house on the banks of the Trent at Stapenhill—a village a mile away—lias been discovered by workmen. It is thought that the site is that of an old brewery, but the possibility of buried treasure is not being overlooked.
