Sir George Fowlds has arrived in Dunedin to attend the annual session of the New Zealand University Senate. Mr Justice MacGregor is visiting Dunedin. Mr J. W. Smith, of Invercargill, passed through Dunedin on his way to Auckland on Saturday morning. Mr Isaac Green, an old Dunedin resident, who has been living in Christchurch for the past 11 years, is at present visiting friends in this city. Among the bowlers who left for Christchurch on Saturday morning for the Dominion bowling tournament were Messrs J. Forster, W. Anderson, C. H. M'Kay, W. Foster, R. Hanning. W. Carswell, J. D. Best, J. Hutchison, C. Beecroft, J. C. Rigby, J. Abbott, F. Kettle, J. Seddon, A. Somerville, G. Edwards, and J. Scott. Cr Hayward, who has been confined to his bed for the past three weeks, is now progressing towards recovery. Mr L. A. Bond, chairman of the Har. rier Sub-committee of the Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, is at present on a visit to Dunedin. He was at one time a member of the Caversham Harrier and Amateur Athletic Club. - ■

The Mayor (Mr R. S. Black), who intended returning early this week from Lauder, Central Otago, w r here he has been spending a holiday, has been taken suddenly ill and will not be able to take up his duties again for some weeks. As a result of the periodical changes in the Salvation Army, Mosgiol_ and district will lose two respected citizens in Ensign and Mrs Flintoff, who have been there for the past two years, and will take up their work in Oxford (Canterbury). and their successors will be Ensign and Mrs Barker, from Eltbam. The departing officers made many friends, and great regret is expressed at their departure. In the administration of relief both gave much comfort to many deserving cases.
